Dan McDonald is a native Texan with deep roots in Fort Bend County. After graduating from Texas A&M University in 1986 he returned to his hometown of Richmond, Texas and accepted a job with Joe Wessendorff and the Wessendorff Cos.
He then became licensed in insurance and real estate in 1988. In 2000, he recognized the need for specialized services and insurance coverages for all varieties of Texas special purpose public entities (MUDs, LIDs). In addition, he continued to work with developers in related real estate transactions. With that being said, in 2006 he founded McDonald Waterworks LLC. Two years later, he purchased majority interest in McDonald & Wessendorff (an independent agency founded in 1928 by the Wessendorff Family) along with providing Commercial, Personal and Employee Benefit insurance products. He and his staff continue to provide insurance consulting for water districts, levee districts, and related companies all throughout Texas.
Dan is an active member of his community and serves on various boards and committees throughout Fort Bend County and surrounding areas. He is a an active member of the Fort Bend A&M club, an advisory board member to Catholic Charities Mamie George Center in Richmond, and an active parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Finally, he serves on the board of directors for the Greater Fort Bend Economic Development Council. He is married to his wife Mary Ann and has one daughter Ali and one son Matt. In his free time, Dan enjoys fishing, ranching, quail hunting, and playing golf.
